This anthology is about racism and inner peace. We were asked by the city to write about racism so here it is. Our members did themselves proud. Equality comes through peace of mind.

Our Voices in Verse 2019 (2019-4)

Our first poetry anthology in 2018 was so successful, we have decided to continue to publish a second one.  Poetry has always been part of our traditional history and is an artistic painting using words.  Again, it is gaining a popularity with poetry slams and readings being held in every city and town.  Every culture has a traditional version of poetry and the written form.  Poetry is what we are all about and it gives us a resource to speak about what we are going through.  Poetry will always be the best and worst of us but it is the voice we need to hear.  Enjoy our poetry book and we hope to have many more to enjoy.

For the first time, we asked our members to write children’s stories and they did.  We also asked them to go back to their own childhood and tell us their story.  What a wonderful tribute to them all.  Thank you to all the writers who donated their wonderful works to make this book a success.

The Path to Wellness (2019-2)

Mississauga Writers Group officially began in January 2013.  Since then, I have joined many city arts and culture programs, events and outings.  Lately, there was a lot of discussion about mental health and I was asked if my group could do an anthology about it.  I asked my group and this is the result of the many members and friends giving submissions.  With the help of everyone in our group, this anthology has been born.  I would like to thank all the writers who donated their wonderful works to make this book a success.

This is Philip Pocock CSS’s and their feeder elementary school, St. Edmund CES, anthology about young people and what is the most important issue confronting us as a species at this moment. They indicate and believe that the environment is the number one issue and challenge. The response was beautiful. Enjoy the stories about the schools and their environmental events. The-earth-we-love-2018

The Earth We Love (2018-1)

Working together with Philip Pocock, we continued their theme this year of  “Saving the Earth”. We went to different venues to ask people how they could save the earth and we got a greater response from asking them “What they loved about the Earth!” So, we changed the name of our anthology to “The Earth We Love”. We got so many submissions and all of them spoke of what they love about the earth in all of its elements and animals. What a beautiful compilation of their words and their love of the earth we walk upon. A charitable donation from the sale of this book will be given to the Culture@Riverwood.

Word Fest, Celebrating Who We Are! (2017-3)

Word Fest, Celebrating Who We Are! Is our fourth yearly anthology.  The themes were to write about your pets living or dead; write a letter to someone famous or not, related, alive or dead or yourself at any age.  Another theme was to write a note to Self:  I’m great and being the best, I can be at this moment.  The submissions were so relevant to the themes and it was a pleasure to have this as part of our library of anthologies.

Celebrating Canada 150 (2017-2)

2017 was Canada’s sesquicentennial anniversary year.  We went to different venues and simply asked people what they loved about Canada. What an amazing time we had doing the different venues and getting people to respond and how happy they were to write about their love of Canada.  We had 1,747 responses from the people who wrote their love of Canada.  It made me more thankful to be born in this country.
