Alene is an award-winning author of non-fiction and poetry. She is the author of Program Without Walls: Stories from Toronto Parents. Her work has appeared in The Toronto Star, Today’s Parent, City Parent, and numerous anthologies. She is a regular contributor to HOWL Open Mic on CIUT.fm in Toronto. Her extensive experience working with children and youth at the public library has inspired her to write for children. She is working on multiple writing projects, including a picture book, junior book, and poetry collection. Alene is going on her 6th year with Mississauga Writers Group.
