Veronica Lerner

Veronica Lerner is a Romanian-born engineer specialist in analytical instrumentation in gas chromatography, with scientific publications in Romania, Canada, and the US, as well as a poet, editor, and journalist. She has made Canada home in 1982, landing in Montreal, and moved to Toronto in 1997. She has published six collections of short stories and poems, four in Romanian, two in English, Talking the World Over (2001) and Smiles in the Mirror (2002) both with Cranberry Tree Press. Her creative work has been included in numerous Romanian and Canadian anthologies. Lerner is also an editor of the award-winning Romanian community magazine Observatorul in Toronto, a prolific freelance contributor to several magazines in Canada, the US, Romania, and an accredited reporter with TIFF. Her collection, People I have known (Oameni pe care i-am cunoscut) , was awarded First Prize in the 2015 Ars Poetica competition in the Book category.
