The cold air hit me as I stepped out of the vehicle with my friends, banishing any trace of sleepiness. We had awaken at an ungodly hour for the ride that took us from the lights of still slumbering glitzy Dubai to the inky vastness of the desert.

PEMA HOU ❏ From a deep fissure in the moss-covered ground I escape and gurgle down a rocky outcrop Starting as a brook, a stream I gather strength and size as I flow over smooth rocks I eddy in dark, deep pools shaded by weeping willows Or lazily flow between banks spiked with tall reeds meandering among buttercup dotted fields
PEMA HOU ❏ Others cringe but I delight | As the dark winter night | Brings down fluffs of snow | That soon cover the ground below. | The temperature falls and I go to bed | With a smile in anticipation of tomorrow. | When the white canvas of the field | Is ready for me to wield | My poles as I step on my skis.
